NCF-30 Private Investigators Adopt Cyber Hunting Techniques
Tuesday Mar 28, 2017
Tuesday Mar 28, 2017
Cyber Private Investigator Craig Smith joins us today while in the middle of a surveillance operation. His is a great perspective that you don't hear very often because it lives in a shadowy hidden world that most of us don't know exist.
Todays Conversation really makes me question the direction we are heading as a culture when it comes to privacy. Are we willing to accept a world where everything on the web is for sale for a price somewhere? You will be surprised how much the content you think is private is out for sale by marketers and surveillance sites on the internet.
When we asked Craig his advice for cyber economic growth, he said to make sure that we don't want to forget the offensive cyber security options. Find out what he means by this in today's show.

Today's guest Dr. Walter Cooper is the Superintendent of Cheyenne Mountain District 12. Walt and our host explored what is needed at the K12 level to prepare the next generation of cyber talent for the work force. We cover many areas from Cyber internship programs to specialized training to prepare our youth for the real world. Walt says is the most important thing for today's students would be to help them find what is relevant in the world of endless data they find surrounding them.
Dr. Cooper made several references to a summer cyber internship program that was provided to high school students in partnership with the Cyber Resilience Institute. This Sports ISAO program was not only a great success but was enjoyed by many of the students that took part. If you are looking to get enrolled in this years program contact the Cyber Resilience Institute or your local school district for information.

Tuesday Mar 14, 2017
Today we have a different type of guest, a new college graduate who is seeking his first job in the cyber security industry. Steven Luber who graduated last year from Mercyhurst University with a degree in Cyber Intelligence joins our host in exploring what are youth are seeking as they enter today's job market.
You may be surprised to hear that with no expectation for job security our young people are turning to job satisfaction as their primary driver for selecting a job and even an entire career. I am hearing more and more that “Show me the money” mentality is out of fashion in a big way.
Hear what is motivating the next generation….

NCF-27 Answering the Existential Question of Our Age, Cyber Security
Tuesday Mar 07, 2017
Tuesday Mar 07, 2017
Today's guests are the top leadership at Denver University, Chancellor Rebecca Chopp and JB Holston Dean of Computer Science and Engineering at DU. This was one of the most insightful conversations I have had so far. Chancellor Chopps expressed the best non-technical definition of cyber security I have ever heard.
“Cyber Security is the Existential Question of our age that we all need to answer”
Not only does this express the foundation of a new generation but also shows the direction that Denver University is taking to create an entire university education experience where Cyber Security is the center feature. This is a direction that we are seeing more and more as cutting edge industry experience become the top need for higher education.
Thank you Chancellor Chopp and JB Holston for joining us today. It has been an honor and pleasure having you on the show.
